The 2008 Summer Olympics

Activity 1:

Make a column graph showing the 5 countries who won the most medals at the 2008 Olympics.
Show the number of gold, silver, and bronze medals won by those countries by graphing 3 bars for each country.
Add appropriate titles and legends.

Activity 2:

Several people won more than one medal for the U.S. Make a bar graph showing the top 5 medalists for the U.S.
Show how many medals they won and show their names.

Activity 3--Commission:

1. Pretend you are a salesperson at Dillards. You get 25% commission for your sales.
2. Make a spreadsheet to show your sales for the weeks below. Make the columns wider as needed.
3. Bold the titles as shown.
4. Merge and center the main title.
5. Add formulas to find Total Sales for each week, Commission for each week, and Total Commission for the 5 weeks.
6. Put a box border around the cell that has the total commission.
7. Underline the titles row.
8. Copy the entire table and place it below the 1st table on the spreadsheet.
9. Change the numbers as they appear in the second spreadsheet below. Watch how the totals change.
10. Make a column graph to show your Commission for the 5 weeks.
